Founded in 2017 in collaboration with the Messinian Brotherhood of British Columbia, Anemos Greek Dance Group is a Vancouver-based cultural organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating Greek heritage through traditional dance.

Our name, Anemos (meaning wind), symbolizes movement, connection, and continuity. Just as the wind carries stories across time and place, our dancers bring the traditions of Greece to life through music, costume, and rhythm.

Anemos includes children, teen, and adult dance groups, all united by a shared love for Greek culture and community. Our adult group is the main performance ensemble, representing Anemos at festivals, cultural events, and showcases across Vancouver, British Columbia, and Canada, while our younger dancers develop confidence, teamwork, and an appreciation for tradition.

Beyond performing, we organize workshops, fundraisers, and community initiatives that strengthen cultural connection and celebrate the beauty of Greek identity in Canada. Through friendship, collaboration, and performance, Anemos continues to keep Greek traditions alive and thriving.
Our Story
Anemos Greek Dance Group began in 2017 with a simple goal: to create a space where people of all ages could experience the joy of Greek dance and community. Formed in collaboration with the Messinian Brotherhood of BC, our group quickly grew into a vibrant family of dancers who share a love for heritage, music, and connection.

Our mission is to preserve and share the beauty of Greek culture in Canada through traditional dance, music, and education. We believe that dance is more than performance. It is storytelling, history, and identity expressed through movement.

Anemos brings together dancers of all generations who play an important role in carrying our culture forward. Our younger members learn the foundations of rhythm and teamwork, while our adult performance group proudly represents Anemos across British Columbia, Canada, and beyond, showcasing the diversity and spirit of Greek dance.
